SUPER League leaders LionsXII sent out a warning to their league rivals after defeating T-Team 3-0 at the Jalan Besar Stadium today.
The Singaporean side, who had temporarily slipped to second after Armed Forces edged Felda United 1-0 in the evening kick-off earlier today, appeared to have their eyes set on the league title with just six games to play. V. Sundramoorthy not only hold a one-point lead over Armed Forces, they also have a game in hand.
The home side took the lead in the tenth minute after an interchange between Faris Ramli and Hariss Harun on the left led to Shahril Ishak receiving the ball. The Singapore skipper created some space for himself before blasting the ball into the goal.
LionsXII continued to search for goals, something they have not done on their travels, and were duly rewarded after Shakir Hamzah headed in a Shahril cross in the 29th minute. Seven minutes later, Fazrul Nawaz sealed the tie with a close range header from a Shahril corner.
LionsXII will get a chance to extend their lead over Armed Forces to four points when they play the previously rescheduled tie against Pahang at the Darul Makmur Stadium on Friday.
